Reading Matters

I am starting my eighteenth year of teaching. During that time, I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English Language Arts.

I strive to challenge students to find relevancy between the materials being taught and their own lives. I work continuously in adapting my teaching style to the student. I use researched based instruction methods to teach struggling readers.

Homeschooling 3 wonderful children who graduated High School and University.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana Tech University and my teacher certification from Grambling State University.

I taught my children at home before entering the workforce as a special education teacher. I have also been certified for English Language Arts instruction.
