Teaching style

My teaching style is explicit, systematic, and diagnostic, grounded in structured literacy and the science of reading. Skills are taught in small, clear steps with consistent routines to reduce cognitive load and build mastery. Instruction is responsive to student performance, with frequent review, guided practice, and intentional application in reading and writing. All strategies are tested and refined with the students I tutor to ensure they are practical, effective, and easy to implement.

I have been married for almost 23 years, and have 8 amazing children! My husband recently retired from the military, and we are excited to start a new phase of life. We love traveling the world with our children, and I love animals and DIY home projects!
