I assign each table in my classroom a color at the beginning of the year. To help manage transitions, each table has a “table captain” who is in charge of wiping the table down after snack, fetching markers or whiteboards for the group, etc. Every day I rotate who gets to be table captain by moving the sign over one seat. Print these cute signs on cardstock, laminate, and tape to your tables so your students know who is responsible for each table today!

I created this weather chart to use in my kindergarten classroom during our daily calendar time. The chart features six types of weather that are most common during the school year in my part of New England: sunny, foggy, snowy, rainy, cloudy, and partly cloudy. At our school, first graders are expected to read for 10 minutes every day as part of their homework. I created this Monday-Thursday reading log because my students had a hard time keeping track of long-term logs, not to mention filling in the tiny boxes on them. This weekly log gives them plenty of room to write in the title and author of the book(s) they read each night, with a line for their parents to jot any concerns, questions, or proud comments.
