Ancient Egypt Social Classes Sample Essay and Rubric
Ancient Egyptian social classes are studied closely when studying world civilizations. Students can choose two social classes from ancient Egypt to write a compare and contrast essay about in order to demonstrate their understanding of the content. This includes a sample essay on the topic as well as a rubric that can be used to grade the essay. This essay is a great example of a cross curricular activity.

Stone Age Writing (R.A.F.T.)
This is a R.A.F.T. to be used in the study of the Stone Age. Students choose their favorite role, audience, format, and task to complete to demonstrate their understanding of the Stone Age. Students love when they can choose their favorite activity and this helps to also differentiate instruction. This can be used as a culminating activity/assessment and incorporates the ELA Common Core Standards.

I believe in teaching the whole child. I believe that all students can thrive when they are given the appropriate tools and support.
My own education history
I obtained my Master's degree in Education as a reading specialist and have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a middle school LA/SS endorsement. I am certified to teach students in kindergarten through fifth grade in all subjects. In addition, I am also certified to teach LA and SS in grades 6-8.
Additional biographical information
Although teaching is one of my passions, my other passion includes advocating for those with food allergies. I have experience as a mother to two food allergic children. I'm committed to making school a safer and more inclusive place for children with food allergies.
