Experience

My shop offers no-prep, ready-to-use social studies resources designed to save teachers time and engage students. Resources are ready to print and go, with no textbooks required. You’ll find a variety of materials, including: • Complete history units with vocabulary, lessons, assessments, and teacher keys • High-interest mini-lessons, including Strange But True History, Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage, and Spotlight on History • Critical Thinking Real-Life Scenario packets that help students apply historical ideas to real situations All resources are designed to be classroom-ready, making it easy to provide meaningful history instruction without extensive preparation.

Teaching style

These resources are designed to support independent learning first, followed by meaningful class discussion. Students begin by completing the lesson independently (similar to a bell ringer or guided reading) This approach reduces the need for long lectures while still building content knowledge Once completed, the class reviews the material together During review, the teacher can: Clarify key concepts Expand on ideas with images, maps, or additional sources Lead discussion and deepen understanding Built-In Flexibility This structure makes the resources easy to use in a variety of ways: Independent work days Sub plans Bell ringers or lesson starters Full class instruction with guided discussion Supplemental Materials Additional resources can be used alongside units to reinforce and extend learning: Spotlight in History – deeper dives into key people and events Strange But True in History – engaging, unusual stories that capture attention Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage – real stories that highlight impact and character These can be used to: Introduce a topic Reinforce a concept Add variety and engagement to your lesson

Awards & shining teacher moments

When students are on task and working independently—without constant direction When a lesson runs smoothly, even with a substitute in the room When there’s no scramble to plan because everything is already ready to go When students are engaged in the content instead of just completing worksheets When class discussion actually happens because students understand what they read When you can teach, support, and expand—instead of rushing through a lecture When you leave school knowing the next day is already prepared
