Experience

Welcome to Real Life Sci! Before becoming a high school teacher, I spent years as a research scientist and worked in healthcare. Now, I combine my industry experience with my passion for teaching to create ready-to-use STEM resources that connect students with modern scientific tools and real-world discovery. My materials are designed to make science engaging, relevant, and accessible—helping students see the impact of STEM in their everyday lives.

Teaching style

I believe science is most powerful when it’s relatable and hands-on. My approach focuses on connecting STEM to everyday life and using modern tools for discovery to spark curiosity. For example, I designed a lab where students investigate why depleted AA alkaline batteries bounce higher than new ones—an unexpected phenomenon that ties chemistry to real-world applications. I also love weaving science fiction into the classroom, showing students how their favorite stories are grounded in real scientific principles. One of my favorite projects explores the ecology of Dune, helping students analyze the environmental systems of Arrakis and their connections to Earth’s ecosystems. Whether through inquiry-driven labs or storytelling, I aim to make science engaging, meaningful, and unforgettable.
