Here are three short passages for Author's Purpose. Students will read each passage then decide the author's purpose. The students need to show evidence to justify their reasoning on their answers. My plan is to have the students glue them onto chart paper that is labeled with each type of writing. Then have the students write a justification statement under each heading.
