About the store
For the past 20 years, I've been working with children with behavioral and social challenges. I recall being a second grader and thinking to myself that I want to teach the hardest grade there is to teach. Since I knew that I didn't know second grade stuff well yet, I figured I'd definitely be able to teach first graders. This kind of thinking went on until I finished high school when I thought that teaching high-schoolers was the most challenging job. Well, I landed a job with a 4 1/2 year little girl with autism, who was hardly verbal and very aggressive. I got bitten a couple of times and needed a Tetanus shot. Now that was really hard! In addition to a college education, I got privately trained with amazing specialists in the field of behavior management and social skills, and have been loving this most challenging and rewarding (pun intended) career!

Teaching style

My lessons are very structured and goal-oriented. My relationship with students is super-positive (I keep focusing on their minutest progress and improvements), but at the same time it is firm and kind. I use humor to lighten up the air.
