About the store
I am a dedicated Mild to Moderate Cognitive Impairment (CI) Adult Transition teacher at a public school, holding certifications in both CI and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsements. My journey in education began as a mentor for special education students during high school, followed by my role as a camp counselor at a special needs camp while in college. These fulfilling experiences and my passion for supporting students inspired me to pursue a career in teaching. Recognizing a gap in age-appropriate "adult transition" and "independent living" materials, I became motivated to create resources tailored to my students' unique needs. The scarcity of suitable materials led me to develop personalized resources consistently. Thus, Redhead SpEd was born, a platform dedicated to providing the necessary tools for fostering independence and success in our students.

Teaching style

I am a firm believer in experiential learning, where students gain knowledge through authentic experiences that reflect real-life applications. My goal is to design classroom activities that closely resemble scenarios they might encounter outside school, fostering practical understanding. Building strong connections between students and the school community is essential. I encourage collaborative learning, as students can greatly benefit from engaging with their peers and the individuals around them. This sense of community not only enhances their educational journey but also equips them with skills for life beyond the classroom. I am committed to creating an environment where all students can reach their fullest potential. I prioritize a safe space that encourages students to express their ideas freely and take intellectual risks. My aspiration is to cultivate student-centered learning, empowering students to take charge of their educational paths. Ultimately, my classroom will be dedicated to addressing the unique needs of each student, ensuring that their learning experience is both meaningful and tailored to them.
