Teaching style

My teaching approach is centered on making learning engaging and interactive. I love to incorporate a diverse range of supplemental resources and introduce delightful surprises in each class. As a visual and hands-on teacher, I aim to make learning a memorable and enjoyable experience for all my students.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of the most rewarding moments of my teaching career occurred while I was teaching high school economics in South Korea. We organized a "market day" where students created their own businesses, invested their own money, and kept any profits they made. A week later, a student approached me and said, "Mr. Reed, I went to the mall and bought a new sweater with my own money for the first time in my life. It felt amazing." This heartwarming moment filled me with pride and demonstrated the power of hands-on learning in shaping young minds.

My own education history

I hold an M.Ed. in Educational Technology & Instructional Design. I majored in Political Science with a minor in History and used to tell people I wanted to be President of the United States (no longer!). My graduate work focused on designing learner-centered digital curricula and effective assessment strategies for diverse student populations.

Additional biographical information

I come from a large family of 11 siblings. I'm happily married and have one toddler-aged boy!
