This homework asks students to find the domain and range from relations shown as mappings, coordinates, coordinate grids, and x and y tables. It also asks them to determine if the relation is a function. It is a four page homework (two pages front and back) to go with the free Introduction Functions Note Shells.
This includes a chart on when to have a dashed or solid line and how to shade. Also included is one worked out example and one for the students to do. The minibook ends with a summary section with four questions.
This is meant as a mini lesson best used as an introduction or a review. The problems are basic (already in slope intercept form).
Direction on how to create the minibook from the worksheet are easily found by googling (images) minibook foldable. I used their directions and it
Help students to view functions through mapping, graphing, tables and coordinates. Includes domain, range, and determining if a relation is a function or not. The note shells are free. I have a homework that I created to go with the note shells offered seperately titled function introduction Homework. This was created with an eighth grade target audience for both my Pre-Algebra and Algebra classes. It does NOT cover discrete or continuous.
I use these note shells so I can get through more problems during a class period. I do the first example with them and then there is a similar example for them to complete as group or individual work. This worksheet is designed to have them discover different types of word problems that require them to construct a right triangle in their drawing. It includes coordinates, directional problems, and square or rectangular diagonal problems. These problems also have a mix of a missing hypotenuese
This worksheet will help students solve for slope algebraically given two coordinates. It will also have them graph the coordinates and check their work by finding the slope from the graph they created. There is a reflection peice as well. This is used in my Algebra Honors course as group work in class.
Graphic organizers for functions. This is a great review admit slip or exit slip. Discrete and continuous, range, domain, solutions, not a solution and function or not a function with a built in space for student notes.
