This is to be used as a review during a financial literacy unit. It can also be used as a formative assessment.

This activity presents students with two earners, Mr. Anybody and Mr. Anywhere. Students are given a copy of both men's check stub. Students must find each man's gross monthly and annual salary, federal taxes withheld, state taxes withheld, Medicare and FICA taxes and a 1% occupational tax. Tax brackets for federal and Alabama taxes are included. PDF includes Alabama tax brackets. There is also an editable version to allow you to customize for your state. Follow up questions are included that

They must research the events, put them in chronological order and draw some sort of illustration that relates to the event

This project is designed to help students critically think. It asks students to consider the impact on US History if certain events were to turn out differently. i.e. What if the 15th Amendment had also given women the right to vote?

This unit covers Economic Challenges within economics. The lessons included are unemployment, inflation, and poverty. This test is 38 questions. It is designed for a senior economics course; however, it can be used for any high school grade. The test covers tax structure (progressive, regressive and proportional), federal budgets, monetary and fiscal policy. The test does require some math -- tax burdens and calculating total tax. There is an answer sheet included. (The answer sheet are the first three pages). The test is the last three pages.
