In this experiment, students will mix silt and water together in a vial and make observations of what happens to the silt and water. The students will engage in a simplified version of the scientific method as they create a hypothesis, draw the procedures, and record the results.

This product aligns with 1.E.2.1, and is the perfect addition to your science unit on rocks & soil! This journal entry provides students with the opportunity to record observations on sand, pebbles, and gravel during a sifting experiment. The template is designed to fit in a composition notebook.

This is a quick assessment asking students to list and draw one way that rocks are used. This is a half-page assessment, so students could glue these into their Science Journals or Interactive Notebooks. Aligns with 1.E.2.1.

Students will design and describe their own rock using this template. The students will first design their own rock on the front, then use vocabulary to describe the physical attributes of their rock on the back.
