Experience
I have 30 + years experience teaching Montessori Primary (3,4, and 5 year olds), Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary. I have extensive experience working with children who struggle with reading in tutoring, one on one, and small group situations. I have 2 years experience teaching G.E.D. classes.
Teaching style
As a Montessori trained teacher, I work with children at their individual levels and provide materials that allow them to work independently wherever they are with learning. In the classroom, children get one on one support with reading, with special support for children below grade level. The materials are set up sequentially and the children are supported in their independent work, with regular monitoring of their progress.
My own education history
B.A. Preschool Education, Montessori Emphasis, A.M.I. Primary Training (3 - 6 year olds), A.M.I. Elementary Training (6 - 12 year olds), numerous trainings in literacy, science, and technology.
