About the store
Greetings, fellow teachers. I have been a public school teacher in Wyoming and Idaho for 39 years, at both the junior and senior high levels. I'm a 1982 graduate of the University of Montana, with additional coursework at the University of Wyoming and Idaho State University. I'm certified in Social Studies an English grades 6-12. I am also a published author and cartoonist with over 20 books to date, ranging from World History comic books to a unit history of the 95th Bomb Group (Heavy) in World War II, and from books on the American Civil War to a book co-written with a former AFL and NFL football player. I have been designing my own lessons and projects for over 30 years, and all my projects are student tested and approved. I find that project-based learning is the best way to teach kids with a wide variety of skill levels and interests. I hope you agree. I have intentionally kept my prices low so that all my colleagues can afford them easily. My teaching specialties include: Ancient Eastern Civilizations, Ancient Western Civilization, United States history, World Geography, US Government and Creative Writing. When not teaching and writing, I spend time running, camping, listening to my records, and reading.

Students will design a Roman city of the Empire period using the Roman layout and all the buildings typical in a medium or larger Roman city. Full teacher instructions 2. 93-slide PowerPoint made by myself years ago that covers everything about Roman cities. 3. A rubric for scoring the Roman cities 4. Student examples done

Teaching style

My style involves lots of class discussion, and I often use the Socratic Method. We tie all lessons into modern applications. I try to develop simulations that recreate historical events so that students can experience them and have to make the same decisions that the great leaders of the past had to make. The longer I teach, the more I get into project-based lessons. In the absence of good ones, I write my own.
