First Day Letter Writing Assignment
I often use this assignment as the first task in my English classes. It is a useful diagnostic tool, and it helps to set the tone for the semester for my expectations.
Included are instructions on how to set up the lesson by developing the criteria beforehand, and also a rubric that you may wish to use.
