Experience
I've been a teacher for 18 years. I'm currently teaching at a virtual high school in Upstate, NY. Prior to that, I taught in a both rural and urban districts in high school English 9-12.
Teaching style
Teaching philosophy centered on developing lifelong learners and teachers of English through multiple individual, small and large group discussions and assignments. Driven to motivate all students to use written expression and interpersonal communication as a means of developing the multiple literacies they negotiate both in and out of school. Using instruction that is individualized, relevant and meaningful to the student’s life to create critical thinkers; applying experiences in the classroom to goals for learning outside of the classroom. Encouraging students in a safe, consistent environment to perform at their personal best.
