About the store
Even as I work toward earning my degree, I’ve already accumulated meaningful teaching experience through hands-on roles that have shaped my approach to education. For several years, I’ve worked as a camp counselor, where I developed strong communication, leadership, and instructional skills. In that environment, I learned how to create engaging learning experiences tailored to different age groups, manage group dynamics, and foster inclusive, positive environments. In addition to this, I’ve also had the opportunity to assist with college-level courses in adaptive design. This experience introduced me to more formal educational settings, where I supported students in understanding complex concepts and collaborated with instructors on coursework delivery. Working within adaptive design not only deepened my technical knowledge but also enhanced my ability to break down challenging topics into accessible, practical lessons—especially important when working with students of varying learning styles and abilities.

Experience

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in adaptability, empathy, and active engagement. I strive to meet students where they are—academically, emotionally, and developmentally—and guide them in ways that encourage curiosity, independence, and confidence. I place a strong emphasis on creating an inclusive, respectful learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to take risks. Because of my background as a camp counselor and my experience assisting with college courses in adaptive design, I’ve learned to blend structure with flexibility. I incorporate hands-on activities, real-world applications, and open dialogue into my lessons whenever possible. This approach allows students to not only understand the material but to connect with it on a personal and practical level. I believe in the power of differentiated instruction—adapting content, pacing, and presentation to match students’ diverse needs. Whether I’m guiding a group project or supporting an individual learner, I aim to create opportunities for growth that are both challenging and achievable. Encouragement, patience, and clear communication are the foundation of every interaction I have with my students. Ultimately, my goal as an educator is to cultivate a learning space that sparks curiosity, builds resilience, and fosters a lifelong love of learning.

My own education history

Earning my degree at Le Moyne College has been a transformative experience, both academically and personally. As a student at an institution that values intellectual rigor, service, and community, I’ve been challenged to grow not only as a future educator but also as a reflective, engaged member of society. Le Moyne’s commitment to cura personalis—care for the whole person—has shaped the way I approach my education and, in turn, how I envision myself as a teacher. The coursework has provided a strong foundation in pedagogy, educational theory, and classroom management, while also encouraging me to think critically about equity, inclusion, and the broader purpose of education. Beyond the classroom, I’ve had opportunities to apply what I’ve learned in real-world settings, including volunteer work, field placements, and collaborative projects. These experiences have reinforced the importance of adaptability, empathy, and lifelong learning—qualities that Le Moyne consistently fosters in its students. As I continue working toward my degree, I’m grateful to be part of a learning environment that not only supports academic excellence but also inspires me to become a teacher who leads with compassion, integrity, and a deep sense of purpose.
