At Rooted Learning Studio, I create story-driven resources for elementary and middle school learners that bring history, science, and the natural world to life. My goal is simple: to make learning feel meaningful, memorable, and engaging. We do not need more busywork to get through. With experience in both homeschool and classroom settings, I design every resource to be clear, practical, and ready to use right away. I know what it’s like to plan full days of learning and I create with that reality in mind. Whether you’re a homeschool parent, a classroom teacher, or somewhere in between, you’ll find materials here that respect your time while sparking your students’ curiosity and imagination.

My teaching style is hands-on, story-driven, and rooted in student engagement. I believe kids learn best when they are actively involved in the process. Not just listening, but when they are actually doing, thinking, and discovering. I love using storytelling to bring lessons to life, especially in history and science. I have found stories help students connect emotionally to what they’re learning. When students care about the story, they remember the content. I also look for ways to connect learning to what students are already curious about. Engagement doesn’t start with “getting them interested.” It starts by meeting them where they are. Most importantly, I want students to be part of the teaching, not just the audience. Whether that’s through discussion, hands-on activities, or exploration, my goal is to create lessons where students feel involved, capable, and genuinely excited to learn.

I hold both a college degree and a master’s degree. My teaching experience spans a variety of learning environments. I have taught large groups of students in inspiring conference-style settings, where the goal was to spark curiosity and bring learning to life on a bigger stage. I have also worked in traditional classroom settings, as well as in homeschool and micro-school environments with small groups of neighborhood children. Each of these settings has shaped how I think about learning and what truly helps students thrive. Across all of these experiences, one thing has stayed the same: students learn best when they are engaged, involved, and emotionally connected to what they are studying. That belief is at the heart of every resource I create.
