My teaching philosophy is simple, if you establish a positive relationship with a child and set high
expectations, the kids will go leaps and bounds farther than anyone ever expected. With my background being in
child development, I understand how the brain works and how intrinsic and extrinsic factors affect student
learning. I have a very positive classroom management plan that does not single out one group of students. I
recognize that children who love and respect you will learn so much more than children who only see you as a
dictator. Teaching to every learning style through direct and indirect instruction, my students know that I will do
what it takes to help them succeed. I would describe my teaching style as energetic, fun, hands-on, project-based,
authentic, and enthusiastic. I am constantly looking to grow as an educator and I strive to stay current with the
newest technologies, programs, and strategies. I am a high-energy educator who has a passion for teaching. I
recognize that all students learn differently, and know how to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of every
child. My goal is to instill in each child knowledge, values, and a love for learning. When students leave my class, I
want them to know they are loved, they are intelligent, they can do anything they set their mind to do, and that
Mrs. Norris is their number one fan.
