Teaching style

I strive to build a collaborative classroom culture where learners work on teams to solve problems and build knowledge by designing creative displays of learning. My classroom teaching style involves cooperative learning in team-based settings with hands-on activities such as problem and puzzle solving, inquiry labs, case studies, gallery walks, and STEM activities such as mouse trap race car competitions, paddle boat competitions, bridge building competitions. I strive to have 100% student engagement though daily formative assessments with clickers, exit tickets, strategic reading and vocabulary activities, and partner interviews.
