Teaching style
My teaching style is grounded in empathy and respect, tailored to accommodate diverse learning styles through hands-on activities and differentiated instruction. I employ the gradual release method— "I do it, we do it, you do it together, you do it"— ensuring students can engage with and relate to meaningful, real-world activities. By providing appropriate modeling, scaffolds, and support, I believe English learners in mainstream classrooms can successfully master grade-level curriculum.
Additionally, I integrate Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) into my approach, emphasizing the use of authentic tasks that mirror real-life situations. This method fosters meaningful communication, learner-centered interactions, and the practical application of language skills, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for all students.
My own education history
I am trained in Language Essentials for Teaching Reading and Spelling (LETRS) and hold certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
