The 5 Finger Check is a quick self-assessment tool that helps students review their writing before turning it in. Each finger represents a key area—capitalization, punctuation, spelling, complete sentences, and neatness—to ensure their work is polished and ready to share.

Here is a great weekly fluency goal to send home with your students! Parents do not always know what we mean when we say to "read fluently." So there are a few pictures explaining what they should look for when their child reads! It also has a spot for each day of the week, how many words they read, and a parent signature. Goals are huge! There is also a spot for you and your student to discuss a weekly fluency goal to shoot for as they read at home!
