This Powerpoint will help your students to practice basic computation and the skill of adding 10 more to a number, taking 10 away, adding 1 more and taking 1 away. Students pick a color and shade in the answer to problems on their 120 chart. 16 minutes later, they have a picture of a Star! Directions are included in the first slide and an example of what their 120 chart should look like is at the end. Use these mini 120 charts for all your mystery pictures or other activities! Laminate and put in a center, use them for homework assignments...the list goes on! There are 6 to 1 page so these are a fantastic "green" product. Enjoy!
These cards are great to use for practicing skip counting, counting backwards and counting by ones. I use them for quick assessments, games and also using those precious minutes waiting outside the restroom on the few stragglers still inside. I also like to use these cards to give students a leadership role in games; they can run the game by being the person who holds the cards.
This Science Lab incorporates Math, Science and Social Studies! Each student brings an apple from home. Read a story about Johnny Appleseed, teach your students the basics of measurement with a balance scale and use cubes to calculate length. Cut the apple open and look at the seeds. Students draw the seeds and discuss how they can use their apple. (I also make an apple pie the night before and we each get a bit after the lab is over!)
