A simple activity to use for teaching the engineering design process. Cut the cards and glue them to note cards for a good movement and whole class exercise or give each student a printout to glue and add to their interactive notebook
Use a Hotwheel car and cellphones to teach the conservation of energy to find the kinetic energy of a Hotwheel car launcher/hotwheel by measuring the car's gravitational potential energy. The lab can be done anywhere in the unit and is a great tool to facilitate a think-pair-share or gallery walk for students to compare results and discuss alternative/similar data.
