About the store

Experience

I have been a Social Studies teacher since 2019, mostly in the urban high school setting and really focus on building literacy skills in my students through social studies content. I currently teach AP World History, Civics/Economics, and Basic Law . I have previously taught U.S. History, and World History.

Teaching style

I have always worked in urban and alternative schools settings and often have found the advertised teaching techniques and activities do not always work in the environment I am in. That being said, my teaching style always ebbs and flows with the needs of my students and the building I am in, but recently I have really been focused on de-teching my classroom and rejecting the fluff in education to ensure my students are given what they need. In my AP and non-AP classes I focus on creating a space where students have high expectations, but also where they can demonstrate their thinking processes and utilize their critical thinking skills.
