Sailing Through Second Grade

This complete descriptive writing packet gives you 3-4 days of quality writing instruction. Your students will practice using their 5 senses to describe an Oreo cookie. Students will also be encouraged to explore using onomatopoeia, similes and interesting adjectives. I just finished teaching this unit with my second graders and they loved it! Who doesn't love Oreos? More importantly, they really took their descriptive writing to the next level!

Students will use this planning page to layout their fictional narrative before they begin to write a rough draft. Emphasize that they should have a clear problem and solution and events told in order.
