Please enjoy these communication boards created to help your students express their feelings and needs within the classroom. I like to use these AAC boards with the help of a manila folder, giving students the tactile ability to pull and place the card that best fits their need. Each board has a set of 18 cards. The cards can be added onto the board, used in isolation, or be kept on a blank wall to give students a variety of language to learn and use. I teach Early Childhood Special Education;

This is a non-editable PDF document of alphabet flash cards that you can use to introduce, review, or display capital and lower case letters as you learn about them! After I have cut each sheet in half and laminated it, I like to clip the card to my bulletin board, model how to write the letter, then encourage my students to take turns writing the letter beneath the card.

About the store

Experience

Hello! My name is Natalie and I am a third year Early Childhood Special Education teacher in Texas. I am a graduate from Baylor University (sic 'em) and I'm loving learning all of the different ways to support my students. Follow me for resources suitable for use in ECSE/PPCD and preschool classrooms!

Teaching style

In ECSE it's important to make school fun to nurture a love for learning. I try my best to find a happy balance between what my students want to learn and our state standards.

Awards & shining teacher moments

This year my district awarded me a grant- "Let's Get Cookin'!". This grant gave my class an air fryer and a variety of adaptive cooking tools to help us create new and exciting recipes. My students enjoy developing their fine motor skills, learning about measurement, and having the opportunity to try new foods.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor of Science in All-Level Special Education from Baylor University.

Additional biographical information

While I'm only in my third year of teaching, I have a lot of experience in the SpEd environment! For the past seven years I have worked for a non-profit day program in North Texas that encourages the independence of kids, teens, and adults with a range of abilities through exciting community experiences.
