Students research the Dirty War of Argentina, including topics of Los Desaparecidos (The Disappeared) and Las Madres de la Plaza. They connect that information to what happened with the Iguala kidnappings of Mexico in 2014 and what is happening with ISIS. Also asks students to look up #todossomosayotzinapa on Instagram/Twitter and report back with findings, as well as visit various videos to learn more.
- Analysis of Che Guevara quote
- map work
- Los Desaparecidos/La Guerra Sucia
- #todossom

Using a mall map, students will complete a 1/2 sheet that asks questions about the location of various stores. Students will use prepositions of location (to the left/to the right, etc.) to determine.
1/2 sheet also includes a writing prompt using the same mall map.
Students will read short paragraphs and choose the adjective that matches the narrator. Then, they will write their own short biography. On the back, students match verbs with adjectives that describe people who do those verbs.
I recommend beginning with the 'Me Gusta sort' (another item) as a great warm up to practice in groups.
cootie catchers to cover ir + a and tener + que questions, as well as common Spanish 1 conversational questions.
Use as a conversation guide for Spanish 1 students!
4 different cootie catchers for variation.
5 day activity guide for the movie Coco. Good for level 1 with supports, level 2, level 3. Uses authentic resources, links to articles & videos.

Database of authentic materials for a language classroom
QR codes (to scan) and links to websites
over 2 dozen resources all in one place.
(downloaded copy comes out better than what the viewer shows)
Students read an authentic biography and pull words they know. They describe the student in the biography. They then write their own biography in the flower. I had students have a conversation with that information, then write a formal letter introducing themselves.
Great to precede the Describe Myself project (another item).
Includes teacher script and 1/2 sheet for students.
Teacher reads script and students draw in the pictures according to prepositions of location.
(example in English: Draw a bird to the left of the police officer).
Script is in Spanish and utilizes some driving/traffic vocab. Can easily be switched out with other vocab and will still fit into the grid.
Students learn countries AND prepositions of location by completing the activity. They circle the correct preposition of location based on the two countries named.
Human Bingo board for Gustar and writing practice
1. Students fill in verbs
2. Students have conversation, play Human Bingo
3. Students fill in the bio about Celeste based on the picture
4. Students recreate Celeste bio about themselves.

A test over the house unit for Spanish 1 or 2. Includes rooms of a house, prepositions of location, furniture. Lots of authentic resources (Air BnB, floor plans, realtor ads, etc.)
Students practice prepositions of location by placing letters in the boxes according to directions.
Easy check- the 4 rows spell words:
FATE
MOPS
NAME
JOKE
Bottom is translating based on traffic vocab.
Stations (place cards for each station and links, infographics, authentic materials, writing prompt, etc.)
I would recommend ordering the station packet as well, as this contains all necessary space for work .
Students conjugate the verbs into present, imperfect, and preterite. Solve Crumple Toss (SCT)
Students conjugate to present tense (solve), then crumple the paper (crumple), then toss (toss) it to the middle of the room. They grab a new paper, and SCT again.
