Experience
I am a retired teacher with more than 30 years of classroom experience. I have taught grades 1,2,3,4,5,6,& 8. I have also taught remedial reading, remedial math, and speech. The majority of my teaching has been in fifth grade classrooms.
Teaching style
I liked involving students in projects that required some research and presentation in front of class. I used Power Point quite often. Smart Boards came in just as I was retiring, but I used them when I got the chance. I kept up a web page to communicate with parents and provide a source of extra info and practice for students. I spent my evenings and weekends doing computer work for the school I worked at. I incorporated the use of technology into
my classroom as much and as often as I could.
My own education history
I earned my teaching degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. I earned more than 85 graduate credits beyond my degree.
Additional biographical information
I have 3 children, 2 step children, and 13 grandchildren.
