About the store
Hi! I'm Sam Bourque - a voice, piano, guitar, and early childhood music educator from Windsor, Ontario, Canada! My days are filled with many different teaching environments and dynamics, including: * Teaching private voice lessons out of my home * Teaching private voice, piano and guitar lessons as well as small-group baby, toddler and preschool music classes at a local music studio (Sonata Piano Studio) * Performing on an early childhood music education YouTube channel (@SonataMusicAdventures) * Teaching voice and music theatre at an arts high school * Music directing local musicals * Running group music classes at local daycares * Virtual vocal coaching I also co-created a preschool piano curriculum and online course with my colleague (and YouTube co-star) Alyssa Layfield, which includes a method book made entirely by us, and over 100 guided videos of us teaching the course! Check out @SonataMusicAdventures on TPT, YouTube, or Instagram if you're interested in checking it out! Creating the book opened up a whole world of content creation that I absolutely love - so creating materials for TPT seemed like an obvious choice for me! I'm excited to be here!

I wanted something simple, organized, and actually fun to use - so I made this Teacher Notes & Planning Pack. It’s designed for private or small group music teachers, but can absolutely be used by teachers of any subject! If you're like me and you enjoy good ol' pen and

My own education history

I have been training in music and musical theatre since I was young. I attended an arts high school where I studied music, drama and dance, and then went on to pursue an Honours Bachelor degree in Music Theatre Performance from Sheridan College (class of 2018). I am currently working towards a certificate in General Music Studies from Berklee School of Music (online) with a focus on vocal pedagogy, music production, and music theory. And best of all, I learn every day by teaching - the learning never stops!

Additional biographical information

On top of my passion for teaching music, I am also a performer! I perform solo and with a band (Saints Down), at various venues and events across the city. I am also still heavily involved in the music theatre scene - mostly in the music director's chair now but I sneak my way on stage every now and then!
