These problems are for students who are learning to add and subtract two-digit numbers with base ten blocks. I used this for my advanced math groups as seatwork.
With this activity, students can organize the ice cream scoops on top of the correct ice cream cone. The ice cream scoops have numbers up to 59 on them, and the cones have the decades (0-9, 10-19, 20-29, etc.). Included in this pack is a recording sheet to hold students accountable for their work, as well as many different ice cream scoops with numbers. Students have to tally up how many scoops are on each cone at the end, so this assesses understanding of tens and ones, as well as organizing
This addition and subtraction game is a great way for students to practice their two-digit addition and subtraction without regrouping. It comes with all of the problems, and a recording sheet to hold students accountable for their work with spaces to draw the base ten blocks for each problem. Students LOVED getting to pick which character from Cars they were!
This small work sheet can be used to assess whether students understand the placement of numbers on a number line. It also asks students to explain how they knew where to put the number. This would be a great independent formative assessment activity!
