Worked full time in first and second grades for 12 years. Post retirement I am teaching reading to students who are below reading level - K, 1st, 2nd and third grades.
This play is one of my students' favorite fairy tales. They love to perform in front of others and particularly love the clip art! I have found that Readers Theater helps to improve reading fluency while the students are having fun! There is a read-aloud feature which is awesome! ESL students and home schoolers benefit from this resource.
I have written scripts for Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and The Shoemaker and the Elves. My students have loved performing these plays! I have watched as their reading fluency has improved and how they have gained confidence as they perform before others. The children have learned that reading can be fun!
This play is one of a series I have created for Readers Theater. My students love performing in front of others. They especially enjoy the many familiar fairy tales. I definitely see improvement in their reading fluency! Students have commented on the clip art and can't wait to take the booklets home!
This is a fun activity for kindergartners and first graders. It also help ESL students acquire new vocabulary. Words are from pre primer and primer Dolch word lists. Helps to develop reading fluency. I had created a similar activity (free) for Valentine's Day and it was downloaded by many people. Hope you and your students enjoy this activity!
This is an activity packet - five pages with Dolch Sight Words and sentences on each page. Most of the 40 pre-primer words are featured. Great clip art for words students may not know.
This is a 16 page script for Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This can be printed out so students can perform at home with parents/friends. Can also perform online with two people taking multiple parts. Definitely helps with reading fluency.
I have researched and created 10 mini books about famous American women. I had previously created mini books for Black History month. Check them out to see the quality of the product. The students loved the Black History mini books! Hopefully, the students will enjoy these mini books and come up with more questions about these women and do additional research to get more information.
Students should learn about different cultures. The Chinese New Year is in February in 2019. This booklet will teach the students about this yearly festival. They will write a brief essay and unscramble words relating to the information in the text. Accompanied by charming clip art! Happy Learning!

On a zip file, I have all of the flashcards for the Dolch Pre Primer, Primer, Grade One and Grade Two sight words. I've made sets for my students based on how they tested. They were thrilled to be able to take them home. We also have a set for the classroom. I made an extra set so they can play concentration. They are really easy to cut out. Enjoy! Let me know how you like them!
My students love to put on plays! It definitely helps their reading fluency and is a great way to spend time with family and friends having fun! There is a Read-Aloud feature should they just want to sit back and read. This script would be suitable for second and third graders, ESL students and definitely for home schoolers!
I have created a script for this favorite fairy tale. Readers Theater helps to improve reading fluency. My small reading groups of four students love performing! Great for home schoolers and all students who can perform for (and with) family members and friends.
I have found that Readers Theater is one of the best ways to improve reading fluency and the students have fun performing! I normally charge $5.00 per script but I am offering three of them for $10.00. Suitable for 2nd, 3rd grades, ESL and Home Schooling!
Here are five mini books giving some details on the lives of: Selena, Roberto Clemente, Ellen Ochoa, Mario Molina and Sonia Sotomayor. Teachers have used these books to introduce these exceptional people to their students through centers and discussions. Students choose a person for their focus; either to present an oral report or write a written report.
This is a guide for discussion which could last a week. The students are introduced to several of the Black Lives Matter principles and are encouraged to use the internet to search for the others. They will write a report and make posters to combine literacy with their artistic skills.
This is a 13 page script I created from the delightful Shoemaker and the Elves Grimms Brothers story. Children have so much fun putting on plays and it definitely helps them with their reading. Students can create their own version of the story and illustrate it. How does this story relate to other stories where magic is a key element? There is so much you can do to build on this story.
These worksheets help students with one to one number matching. They write answers to how many funny bunnies there are in each box. Great for math centers. They can do them over and over until they master the concept.
This is a 12 page activity adding a candle each day for eight days. There are nine candles as one is used to light all the other candles. Students sing and count the candles. Information about the holiday is included at the end of the song.
All 46 of the Second Grade Dolch words are embedded in these beautifully-colored hearts. You can run them off on pink paper as I have done. The kids love them. You can make duplicates and play Concentration with them. Partners can play with them in Centers. I made sets for the children to take home.
I have used these in small group lessons to help the students learn their letter names and sounds. They love them and through repetition, are learning these important skills. I am working on creating mini flashcards to go along with this resource which they can take home to practice.
