Spiral Review/Practice is essential for success on SOL's. This file contains 40 Daily Spiral Review sheets, which I have used for morning "bellwork" this first semester in my classroom. There are 2 to a page, to save paper. You can edit them to suit your needs, if necessary. I have used them with my AAP students, but they can easily be modified for gen.ed. students. They cover math and social studies, mostly, with a sprinkle of science and language arts as well.
I have used this unit with my advanced 3rd graders for the past two years, and they LOVE it! We delve into the world of Roald Dahl, and use our study to build classroom communication and cooperation as well as literacy skills This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License.. This is an activity which I use with my 4th grade advanced students to help them set academic and behavioral goals, which is required in our state standards.

Managing literacy centers can be a challenge. I hang the colored center cards on my board, as a visual reminder of students' choices. Students keep track of their daily choices on the accompanying chart. They turn the chart in at the end of the week, and I keep these in a portfolio for parent conferences and my own records.
This is a short (11 slide) powerpoint designed to serve as a mini-lesson (or possibly 2 mini-lessons) for intermediate grades to review verbs and verb tenses.
These labels contain a picture file (border) and text file (writing), so that you can change the text or edit the border as you like. They are simple, yet add a cheerful touch to the classroom decor.
Reading and interpreting expository text is a challenge for most students. This activity, which can be used with any non-fiction text, provides practice with locating and using non-fiction text features and structures. It's a great way to help your students become proficient with informational text.

I made this to go with our unit on ladybugs (animal adaptations, life cycles). Feel free to use/tweak as necessary.
