This is a sorting activity in which students can categorize pictures of physical and chemical changes of matter. There are 18 cards with photographs and 2 heading cards. I have my students work in small groups or in partners to complete this activity. It can be played as a matching game if additional heading cards are printed. My students loved the realistic examples and had some excellent scientific discussions why each image fit in each category!

This is an anchor chart introducing the concept of perimeter. It has two visual examples, real world examples, and colorful graphics to help students remember the definition and formula! I have a large version on my wall for third graders to use as a reference, but it would be a great resource in math journals as well!

This is a fun activity to help students compare masses measured in grams and kilograms. It is played like the game War, in which students each place a card down at the same time, and must compare the amounts. The student with the greater card gets to keep the pair! This poster helps students remember the three parts of a multiplication equation. I teach my students to break multiplication word problems into three parts - the group, the size of the group (each), and the total. My students have learned to locate key words indicating multiplication and writing out GET, labeling each part with either a specific number or a question mark for the unknown. It has really helped them to understand how multiplication works, rather than just memorize facts!

This is a great resource to help primary students remember important parts of a complete paragraph! It is formatted to be folded into a cube and taped closed as a more engaging form of a writing checklist. My first graders loved using them on a daily basis!
