About the store
For ten years, I served as an inner-city music teacher, where I witnessed firsthand the emotional needs of students often go unmet in the fast-paced school day. While I loved teaching, I often found myself wishing I had more time to help students with what was really on their minds. That realization led me to return to school to pursue a new path in counseling. Today, I work full-time as an elementary school counselor in a rural district, where I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive environment that nurtures students' emotional well-being. I draw from both my classroom and counseling experiences to design resources that are meaningful, effective, and rooted in real-world student needs.

About the store

Experience

Teaching style

As both a former teacher and now a school counselor, my approach centers on engagement, structure, and emotional safety. My resources are created to be inclusive, easy to implement, and adaptable for a variety of learning settings. Whether it's for classroom management, social-emotional learning, or behavior support, everything I create is meant to help educators connect with students and support their growth—both academically and emotionally.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was honored to be nominated for Music Teacher of the Year in Ohio, recognizing my dedication to student engagement and creativity in the classroom. During my graduate studies, I was also recognized as an Outstanding Student in School Counseling, an award that affirmed my commitment to student mental health and educational success. These milestones remind me of the power educators have to shape lives—and inspire me to keep creating tools that make a difference.

My own education history

I earned my Bachelor’s in Music Education and later went on to complete my Master’s in School Counseling. This blend of experiences allows me to understand students from multiple perspectives—academic, emotional, and behavioral—and to create resources that are both practical and impactful.

Additional biographical information

After a decade in the classroom, I found my true calling in helping students work through their emotions, build resilience, and feel seen. Now, as a school counselor, I lead SEL lessons, behavior plans, small groups, and school-wide initiatives that promote emotional wellness. I’m also a mom, and with summers off, I love creating content to keep my own kids engaged, learning, and off screens as much as possible. Many of my resources are inspired by what works in my own home—simple, independent activities that spark creativity and connection. Through this store, I hope to empower other educators and parents with easy-to-use, research-informed tools that truly support the whole child.
