Students will observe, discuss, and create masks based on descriptions of themselves and the world around them. The lesson goes in conjunction with students beginning to read Fish in a Tree by Linda Mullaly Hunt, where they can describe and discuss the masks they see in the characters. The lesson helps to answer the Essential Question: What does it mean to wear a mask if you're not actually wearing one?

This is a middle/high school writing assignment where students tell a story of how they discovered what they received as a gift. It provides specific detail on how the assignment should be completed and appropriate.

Students create survey questions that will be compiled into one survey list. The survey is distributed to classmates, the school, etc.
