About the store
My journey into Early Childhood Education started in high school when I took an after-school job at a daycare. (A job I took because my best friend worked there and it gave us 3 hours of guaranteed hang-out time 5 days a week.) I wasn't prepared to fall in love with the field! Soon I was off to college, which resulted in a BA in ECE, a trip to Reggio Emilia, Italy to study the Reggio Emilia Approach, which then turned into years as a preschool teacher (my favorite age!), a first grade teacher, and a director, working in both public and private schools. Now I own and operate 3 preschools and 2 private schools (K-5th) in Central Florida. I homeschooled my own two children and I have loved creating fun and engaging materials that I get to use with my own kids and the students at my schools.

Teaching style

To be honest, my favorite part of teaching isn't when kids learn to read or when they master a math skill they've been struggling with. I've always cherished teaching social and emotional skills and just existing in their world, observing all they have to share and using that to create meaningful learning opportunities. My teaching reflects that: asking students lots of open-ended questions to help them arrive at a conclusion rather than just telling them how to do something. I live for long-term projects that children can revisit and add to as their knowledge grows. My background in college was the Reggio Emilia Approach and even though I'm producing printable PDFs for students, I love to infuse it with some of my own curiosity about how the students will engage with the materials. Working mostly with younger students and my own homeschoolers, I tend to lean more into long-term projects, workbooks that are more like guidebooks that we can work on together or in small groups over time, and curriculum that caters to the curious explorers, the kids who learn best when it's disguised by fun and memorable activities.
