Engineering Design Process (Design a Parking Lot)
Students will utilize the engineering design process while designing a parking lot for a school. They will collaborate to sketch and then transfer their design onto a large piece of tagboard. They will use toy cars to test their designs and then go back and make any changes. I used this lesson during my interview for my current position and I got the job...I bet it would work for you too! Another passion of mine is classroom design. With the amount of time we spend in our classrooms, it certainly should be a space you LOVE to be in. If its not...we need to change that! Have fun with it! Your kiddos will appreciate the time and effort too.
