Your young students will love this experiment! Anything that involves water they seem to get really excited about! Students will test 3 materials to see how well they work to absorb water. They will document their process along the way!

Vocabulary recording sheet. Students can record definitions, examples, pictures, etc for each of their vocabulary words. Print as many pages as you need for your weekly word list. Each sheet has space for three words, if you need more simply change the numbers on the lefthand side to account for your wordlist.

I use this sheet during our small group reading time. This allows students to choose their activity while I work with students in the back of the room. I usually spend about two weeks practicing each skill all together to build their stamina. You can edit the activities to fit what you are doing that week as well.

This intro packet to liquid has students brainstorm for liquids, complete a word find for types of liquids, differentiate between liquids and solids, and practice with liquid measuring practices.
