Preview of Puzzling Continents

Puzzling Continents

Students will attempt to reconstruct the supercontinent of Pangea using a simplified map of the continents. Two versions give students the chance to do the activity with and without geologic and paleontological evidence.

Integrated Physics and Earth Science KY/NGSS aligned Workbook

This workbook reflects 8 years of teaching experience and custom curriculum design for a freshmen integrated science class in Kentucky. This workbook is set up to progress from basic graph reading and algebra based physics to Earth processes, geology, Earth history, and Astronomy using Kentucky and NGSS standards with each unit building on the last. While this was designed to be a full-year's curriculum you may want to pull out individual activities to use in your classroom or to supplement y

Spacecraft in Papercraft Scale Model Astronomy Exhibit Project

This project is for high school astronomy students to build scale models of real spacecraft used by NASA, the European Space Agency and other space agencies from around the world! Over 140 paper models* have been compiled in this database to choose from! Along with the scale paper model students will create an informational exhibit to go along with the model to display. Included in your purchase are example slides, student templates, project outline, rubrics, and teacher plan for each day of

Printable Rock Cycle Board Game

This printable board game will introduce students to, or help refine their understanding of the rock cycle. Move your game pieces around the rock cycle by playing geologic action cards. The first player to successfully move through the rock cycle and collect one of each type of rock card (sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous) wins! But beware, if another player uses a melting card you'll be sent back to the molten mantle and start all over! Included in the zip file is the game board (for prin

Forces and Motion (F=MA) lab

Detailed lab investigation using University of Colorado's online PHET interactive. This lab investigation leads students to discovering the mathematical relationship between force, mass and acceleration.
Preview of Conservation of Momentum investigation

Conservation of Momentum investigation

Conservation of Momentum is a difficult concept for students to grasp mathematically. This investigation uses University of Colorado Boulder's PHET simulation to model three types of collisions; elastic, inelastic and explosions. Students will input values for beginning masses and velocities and discover the mathematical formulas used to show the conservation of momentum.
Preview of Coulomb's Law Investigation

Coulomb's Law Investigation

This investigation uses the "physics classroom" coulomb's law interactive simulation. The work guides students to a systematic analysis of the effect charge and distance has on the electrostatic force between two charged particles. This activity is meant to pair with the Universal law of Gravitational investigation.

Universal Law of Gravity investigation

Using the "physics classroom" gravitational fields interactive students will investigate the mathematical relationship between gravitational force, mass and distance between two orbiting bodies. This activity guides students through collecting and analyzing data to find the inverse square law relationship between gravity and distance and the direct relationship between force and mass. This activity is meant to pair with the Coulomb's law investigation.
