Students will test for 3 classes of biomolecules, with a twist! Somebody killed Kenny! Snacks left behind are the clues to narrow down your list of suspects. Students will identify the main biomolecules found in common food, then test for those substances to solve the case! Geared toward PBL, PAP, or Honors, but can easily be modified. Includes a student handout with pre-lab, data, post-lab and a lab report outline as well as Teacher information.

Welcome to the Minute Clinic! Have students race the timer to determine if a patient has a viral or bacterial infection. If viral, they need to determine lytic or lysogenic. Great warm-up, transition, or closing task!

Complete unit covering all four biomolecules and water! Designed with Pre-AP/Honors students in mind, but can be used to teach on-level with minor adjustments.

Get students talking and teach test strategy at the same time! Roll the dice to determine your role (Choose the correct answer, what's the best wrong answer? , What's the worst answer choice?, draw a diagram or give a real world example....) Great warm-up activity!
