My own education history

I studied tropical marine ecology in Australia before working at a research and education aquarium for six years. There I taught a variety of subjects to include Marine and Environmental Science. I then became a high school biology and marine science teacher, eventually adding AICE marine to my curriculum. I also have volunteered and interned at countless SWFL nature centers and education facilities, all of which helped me understand the educational needs of students with a wide range of backgrounds and ages. For two years I was the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Florida Marine Science Educator Association (FMSEA) which helped me connect with a variety of different marine educators across Florida and gain valuable insight into the needs of teachers.
