About the store

Experience

I am an experienced educator with over 20 years in the field, currently teaching middle school science. I am passionate about inspiring curiosity and engagement in my students by creating dynamic, hands-on learning experiences and high-quality instructional resources.

Teaching style

My teaching style is student-centered, interactive, and focused on inquiry-based learning. I strive to create a classroom environment where curiosity drives exploration and discovery. Through hands-on activities, experiments, and real-world connections, I help students actively engage with scientific concepts rather than simply memorize facts. I also emphasize collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning while supporting them with structure, guidance, and enthusiasm.

My own education history

I have over 20 years of experience in education, including nine years teaching Kindergarten through 5th grade, where I focused on building strong foundations in literacy, math, and curiosity-driven learning. I later taught 5th grade English Language Arts, fostering critical thinking and communication skills in upper elementary students. I currently teach 8th grade science in North Carolina, where I integrate hands-on, inquiry-based lessons to inspire curiosity and deepen scientific understanding.

Additional biographical information

I am a proud mother of four teenagers and wife to my husband, Josh; we have been married since 2005. We have lived in North Carolina for the past 12 years with our dog, Maverick, and our cat, Goose. I graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Education and have over 20 years of experience teaching, bringing my passion for learning, family, and community into my work as an educator.
