This is a quick check in for your class to see if they can find the area of an irregular shape with sides being shown. I have also added a second shape to add difficulty and scaffold for higher students so that they will have to find the missing sides then break apart in order solve area for each non- overlapping shape and eventually add them together to solve for the entire irregular figure.
For the primary grades in the computer lab, this is a very good starting tool for assessments. Students can practice their computer parts knowledge by matching a computer term with its picture. Completely customizable, you can change out pictures and terms to fit your students needs.
Ever wondered how to teach coding without a computer? It happened to me, so I created my own codes from scratch. You can break your students into teams and give them a set of codes to program the teacher or a group member through a maze. I used masking tape and created a maze throughout the lab.
