This is a great book for students of all ages. This lesson plan includes a word search, sequencing, similes &idioms activities, comprehension questions, use of context clues, cause & effect activity, and even a fun cooking activity! Students will use a dictionary to determine the meaning of any unknown words and decide if the sets of words are antonyms or synonyms. The antonyms will be colored red and the synonyms will be left white. Once all words are completed students can cut the pieces and form a candy cane to glue on an additional paper.
