I have taught 3 years at the secondary level. I have taught in a personalized learning wing of my school where I assessed with projects instead of tests. I now work in a more traditional role, but I continue to find ways to include enrichment projects into the curriculum.

Plan A Vacation Simulation (Financial Literacy for Secondary)
This project tasks students with creating a week-long dream vacation using a budget of $2,000 per person. They will be tasked to plan out accommodations and document them on a budget sheet. Lastly, They will create a slideshow presentation!

Create Your Own Video Game Simulation
This simulation challenges students to experience the financial side of creating a video game firsthand. They will use secondary math skills and learn basic economic vocabulary along the way. This is a very details and regimented simulation that should take between 2-3 class periods.

Experience

I teach more traditionally in my current role, but previously I was in a position designed to push personalized learning to its extremes. I assessed based on projects instead of tests and I taught 5 different subjects.
