This resource is great as a comprehension task following a Jungle-themed story or one that includes animals - I used it during work on 'Rumble in the Jungle'. Individual symbols naming and describing animal descriptions. Differentiate by presenting fewer symbols for 1-1 matching (snake - scales) or more symbols to begin constructing sentences. Symbols muddled up so they are ready to use for students able to cut them up themselves.
A helpful WIDGIT symbolised place value chart going from thousands to hundredths. Colour coded for simplicity. Laminate onto glossy laminate to be re-used again and again with a dry erase marker!
