This resource was created to be used with Dr. Henry Borenson's Hands-On Equations program. While using the program, I noticed my LE students needed more practice building the problems with the visuals before moving on to setting up the algebraic equations. This file includes 40 practice problems with pictures at the Level 1 level. Level 1 only uses the blue pawns and the red dice. This resource is geared towards first grade students. The first sorting activity is a set of task cards that allows students to sort the pictures and values of each coin (penny, nickel, dime, and quarter). Two versions of a reference sheet is included so students can check their work. There is also cut and paste Coin Sort worksheet available for extra practice of the same skill.
