Use this lesson plan to review the composition of teen numbers. This lesson plan is intended for Kindergarten students, but can also be used in first grade using correlating NBT standard of composing numbers 11-19. For the lesson, students will be making chains for an assigned teen number using 10 links in one color and the extra ones in another color.
